Crooker Construction was contracted to remove and replace the existing 60” corrugated metal culvert with a 14’ wide x 9’ tall elliptical corrugated aluminum pipe under the causeway. This causeway is the only access route to the homes and yacht club on the peninsula. Working the tides was extremely important on this project and severely limited working hours. Cobbles were placed within the culvert to maintain a natural pathway for sea life. The causeway slopes were reinforced with large riprap and the roadway was picked up to help prevent future overtopping.
