Green Street Rehabilitation Bath, ME

Project Type: Utilities, Roadway Reconstruction

Award Date: August 2022

Value: $1,612,282.59

Engineer: Wright-Pierce

Owner: City of Bath, Maine

Scope of Work:

Crooker Construction, LLC was awarded the contract for the Green Street Rehabilitation in August of 2022 and completed the project in November of 2023.

As an improvement to the city’s combined sewer overflow program, this project included over 1,220 LF of sewer main (including services and manholes) and 1,200 LF of storm drainage (including catch basins). As with many projects in Bath, the utilities ran through backyards, encountered hard ledge and blue clay, and conflicted with many unknowns, including an 1879 granite slab fire cistern.

Once utilities were complete, work also included rehabilitating Green Street in its entirety. This included reclaiming and grading the existing roadway, pavement installation, new slipform and granite curbing, sidewalk construction and ADA improvements.

With many homeowners along Green Street (and abutting streets where utilities were run), coordination was essential as Crooker needed to access driveways, tie in sewers and access materials for construction. Crooker worked diligently with the City, Wright-Pierce and the community to make this project a success.
